What is Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT)?

Since February 2022, all applicants for a CDL license must complete ELDT before they can take the CDL driving skills exam.

  • Theory – This can be done here online or in person in a classroom. Online training with the CDL eXpert saves you time and money and is more consistent than in-person training (See notice for Washington State at the bottom).

  • Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) – Hands-on, in-vehicle training must be completed at a registered provider before you take your CDL driving skills exam (Not included with this course).
